Today Devin left the MTC and headed for South Carolina to serve the next 22 months on his Mission. He fell ill on Friday and had a fever, and as a result he was placed in a quarantined area for two days. There have been instances of Swine Flu in the MTC, and so they take every precaution to avoid an outbreak. Thinking he was going to be delayed in leaving the MTC, he was given the news yesterday that he would be leaving today after all.
Although parents and siblings are no longer able to visit the departing missionary in the airport, Devin was able to call and speak to us twice today from airports. It was wonderful and emotional to hear his voice. As we write this, Devin is now in South Carolina. We hope to hear from him very soon with news of his first area he will serve in, along with information about his companion. We also hope to be able to post some photos soon. We love you Devin!
